With five days of wine, food, music and celebration, Bern’s Winefest pleases the foodie and wine lovers with a multitude of events. From the kickoff Gala Winemaker Dinner at Haven featuring wines of the Spire Collection, to the educational wine seminars at the Epicurean Theatre, to the finale Bern’s Winefest WineMaker Dinner, those with a palette were filled with decadence and indulgence.
Each year the décor and settings of each event out-does the year before. This year, turquoise carpet, glittery disco balls and stunning florals greeted the guests. The Grand Tasting featured over 224 wines paired with the culinary delights from Bern’s Steak House, Élevage and the newest jewel in Bern’s crown, Haven.
VIP guests enjoyed the Moët Hennesy Champagnes, including a tasting pour of Dom Pérignon. Always delicious are the Grand Marnier Slushie cocktails from Haven and EDGE. The tasty macaroons and the sinful sweets from Chocolate Pi satisfied the dessert lovers.
New this year was a band and DJ that got the dance floor rocking on Sunday afternoon.
The proceeds from the silent auction benefited the James Beard Foundation in support of the Bern Laxer Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded to students seeking culinary, hospitality or viticulture degrees.
