Let’s start with what The Lime is not. It’s not your boring TexMex taco stand and not some South Tampa version of Señor Frogs. What is The Lime? It’s the place to go for a hip version of South of the Border cuisine. A fun and fresh environment part sports bar, part nightclub with a new approach to the Mexican classics. A favorite is the Mini Chimi. A small version of a fried flour tortilla filled with a choice of meats, accompanied by fresh sour cream and guacamole. For a lighter fare try the Fiesta Bowls a combination of fresh vegetables, rotisserie meats tossed together with lettuce. Entrées are offered with choice of eight types of meats including natural chicken rotisserie, grilled lamb, slow simmered pork, grilled skirt steak and shredded haberno beef. Add a serving of rice and beans for only $1.50. Wash down the meal with a salted frozen or on-the-rocks margarita, or a variety of beers offered on tap. After the regular dinner hours, an eclectic mix of 20 and 30 somethings gather to listen to the latest deejay mixes and enjoy a large selection of fine tequilas.
